Revealing Your Thoughts

THE EFFECT: You reveal a country, an animal and the color of the animal a spectator has only just thought of! THE SECRET: Ask a spectator to think of any number. Ask them to double that number then add 8, divide that new number by 2, then subject the original number they thought of. Example: 20 + 20 = 40 + 8 = 48 divided by 2 = 24 minus 20 = 4 (Final number is always 4, more on this later). Get the spectator to tranpose the final number into letters. Example 1 is A, 2 is B, C is 3, 4 would be D. Ask them to think of any country that begins with the letter that they have. As their number is 4 they will have the letter D. The only country they will be able to think of will be Denmark. Then tell them to go one letter past the original letter they thought of, in this case one letter past D is the letter E. Ask them to use that letter to think of any animal whose name begins with that that letter. In 99% of cases the spectator will think of Elephant. Then have them think of the color of that animal and of course it will always be the color grey! Finally proceed to reveal to the spectator they thought of Denmark the animal is an Elephant and the color of the animal is grey. The number they pick at the beginning of this trick does not matter as it will always end up being 4 as long as you make sure they do the math correctly! Do not do this trick twice for the same audience as obviously the answers always come out the same!
