Crayon Mind Reading

THE EFFECT: You are able to successfully identify the colour of a crayon a spectator chooses simply by holding it in your hand without ever looking at it!


THE SECRET: Take 4 or 5 crayon's and have a spectator secretly pick a color. For example say there is a Yellow, Green, Red and Blue crayon. With your back turned and hands behind your back have your spectator take the crayon and place it into your hands. Your back is turned so there is no way you could see what colour they picked.


Get the spectator to take away the other crayons out of sight and then turn to face them keeping your hands behind your back and stare into their eyes to pretend to read their mind. As you do this scape the crayon with your thumb nail so a tiny piece stays under your nail.


Bring the hand you just scraped the crayon with in front of your body and up towards the spectators head as if again trying to read there mind. Make sure your thumb nail is facing towards you so the spectator will only see your palm. At this time take a look at your thumb, not directly as this would be too obvious but while you are looking at the spectator and you will be able to see the colour they picked under your nail.


Announce your prediction and of course you will be correct. You can repeat this a couple of times if you wish, but do not do it too many times as you may give the secret away!
