Ink Reading

THE EFFECT: You ask a spectator to pick a card, after they pick the card you tell them that you are going to bend and feel the card in order to figure out how much ink it holds. You pick the card up still facing the spectator so only they can see it.

You explain that once you know how much ink the card has you will be able to figure out exactly what they have chosen. Once you are happy you hand the card back to your spectator to shuffle in the deck.

You look through the deck and just by feeling it can correctly remove the card the spectator chose.

THE SECRET: First ask the spectator to choose a card, after that you tell them to give you the card but facing them so you can not see it. Next tell them that you are going to bend it in order to find how much ink it holds and then figure out the card.

Hold the card in your left hand and bend it all the way down. You should be able to see the bottom corner of the card. Memorise the suit and number then get the spectator to loose it in the deck.

All that is left for you to do it locate the spectators cards and reveal it. Obviously pretend you are feeling each card as you go.

TIP: Just as you are bending the card to look at it talk to the spectator to misdirect them from what you are doing. Look directly at them but glimpse at the card from the corner of your eye.
