Smoke from Fingers

THE EFFECT: The magician shows his hands completely empty then amazingly upon his command smoke starts to rise from his hand. Once finished the magicians shows his hands empty once more.


THE SECRET: You need to cut off the striking ends of a few Matchboxes (the part where you normally strike a match). Burn these in a porcelain dish.


Once they have burnt some green coloured residue will be left behind in the dish. Put some of this residue on your thumb and pointer finger and you are ready to go.


Show your hands empty to the spectators (they will not be able to see anything in your hands) slowly rub your pointer finger and thumb together and smoke will start to come from your hand!


TIP: You must wash your hands straight after the performance the residue can cause skin irritation.

You have to burn it on a flat surface (I saw it being performed on a metal shovel) It works and is very cool :)

You don't even have to that if you go to a hardware store they have a gel pasty material that when you rub between your fingers it looks like little particles floating up. I forget what it's called, if i remember I'll post a new comment.

I used to do this trick with a tube of Mystic Smoke. I would put the stuff on my fingers, show my hands empty, rub my fingers together, and POOF,trails of smoke rising from my fingertips. Cool effect.
